Eurasia Foundation’s Kalicki Memorial Fellowship for Civil Society Leaders is a transformative initiative empowering outstanding nonprofit leaders from Eurasia and the Middle East. The program offers a fully funded opportunity for senior nonprofit managers and executives who demonstrate exceptional potential to travel to the United States to engage in a thought leadership exchange, explore collaborative opportunities, and expand their professional networks.
One fellow will be selected each year to attend a short-term executive education course at a premier university in the U.S., such as Columbia, Georgetown, Harvard, and Stanford. These courses offer an intensive week of learning, strategic thinking, and networking with peers and experts in the nonprofit sector.
Following the certificate program, the fellow will visit Washington, D.C., to meet with organizations that align with the fellow’s work and interests. This visit may also include an event where the fellow will speak on a panel to discuss their work.
This immersive experience enhances participating changemakers’ leadership skills, expands their professional networks, and equips them with innovative strategies to drive positive change within their communities.
Eurasia Foundation Chair Emeritus Jan Kalicki’s generous gift funds the fellowship in living memory of his father, who was a member of the Warsaw Resistance in World War II, a mathematician, a philosopher, and a university professor. This fellowship supports the leadership development of individuals who can drive change and inspire others, particularly in countries facing immense challenges and undergoing significant transformation.
