“Participation [with Cornell University’s Yang-Tan Institute and SAG-AFTRA] helped me to determine directions in developing relations between employers and people with disabilities. I learned about inclusion of people with disabilities in the workspace. [When I returned] Walt Disney Company’s leadership told me that the perspectives I had offered during my presentations served as a key push in developing [a] sizable marathon [of accessible film screenings].” – Volunteer, Walt Disney Company, 2018
Corporate Social Impact Programs
“Knowing that someone across the Atlantic Ocean is doing the same thing as you is truly incredible.” – Volunteer, 2020
For more than three decades, Eurasia Foundation has connected people across borders to share skills, strengthen sectors, and drive sustainable change.
We identify volunteer opportunities that align skills with needs, ensuring both volunteers and hosts benefit from the exchange. With deep experience placing volunteers across the United States and the broader Eurasian region, Eurasia Foundation is a trusted partner for organizations seeking to expand their impact.
“Partnering with Eurasia Foundation helped me push to new projects, new ideas. Knowing that I had a whole team of accomplished experts around me really broke that sense of isolation and kind of the heaviness of ‘I have to do everything by myself.’ Eurasia Foundation staff were there every step of the way. I knew I could always pick up the phone. I am a better leader because of this work.” – Host, 2022
Overseas: We have a robust track record of placing volunteers with international NGOs, media outlets, universities, and small businesses. From supporting social enterprises in Central Asia to strengthening organizations for people with disabilities in the South Caucasus, Eurasia Foundation matches volunteers with organizations eager for new expertise and capacity.
In the United States: We have facilitated placements for international professionals with leading American NGOs, think tanks, and companies. These exchanges create two-way learning opportunities: exposing international leaders to new practices, while giving American hosts access to global insights and talent.
Virtual Engagement: We also manage virtual placements that connect skilled professionals and host organizations online. These exchanges expand opportunities to collaborate, even when in-person travel is not possible.

By the numbers: 1,500+ volunteers placed, 100+ host partners engaged
Comprehensive Logistics Management
Eurasia Foundation’s success rests not only on our ability to identify volunteer opportunities, but also on our robust logistical capacity.
• Travel + Visas: We manage the complexities of international travel, visas, and compliance, ensuring smooth arrivals and departures.
• Orientation + Training: We prepare volunteers with cultural orientation, security guidance, and program-specific briefings.
• On-the-Ground Support: Our trusted network of local partners across our regions of operation ensures immediate support, wherever and whenever you need it.
From the first point of contact to the final debrief, Eurasia Foundation guarantees volunteers are set up for success.
Host Identification and Relationship Management
We maintain a diverse pool of vetted host organizations, ranging from grassroots non-profits to research universities, independent media outlets, and private companies. We assess hosts’ needs and readiness to work with volunteers, match volunteers with aligned skills, and provide ongoing support to ensure positive relationships between them. Our proactive management style minimizes risks, ensures maximal productivity, and cultivates trust among all parties involved.
“To avoid mistakes and harm to both volunteers and their mentees, volunteers need careful training and supervision. This [experience] gave me great inspiration to implement what had been missing in my hometown.” – Volunteer, 2016
Troubleshooting and Adaptive Support
Even the best-prepared placements may encounter unexpected challenges. Eurasia Foundation has decades of experience in adaptive problem solving. This may mean resolving host-volunteer mismatches, addressing cultural misunderstandings in the workplace, or adjusting logistical arrangements mid-program. No matter the challenge, we are here to help. Volunteers and hosts alike trust Eurasia Foundation staff to provide responsive, solutions-oriented support that protects the integrity of the volunteer experience.
