As governments all over the world scramble to provide tests and medicines to citizens exposed to COVID-19, those who have digitized these processes are seeing these investments pay off. e-Licenses, developed under EF’s Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services (TAPAS) program, streamline the sale, import, and production of medicines in Ukraine. Instead of having individual pharmacies physically apply for a new license every time they want to start activities or update data, the new digital application allows them to quickly apply online. This eliminates the bottleneck prohibiting access to critical medicines, an increasingly important efficiency needed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
