We partner with local leaders, reformers, and institutions to deliver programs that advance transparency, resilience, and opportunity. 

 

We are seeking an HR Generalist to lead the daily operations of EF’s human resources function. This role serves as the primary HR contact for staff across multiple states, ensuring a positive employee experience while maintaining compliance with federal and state labor laws. 

 

Scope of Work 

The HR Generalist will oversee all aspects of EF’s HR operations, including employee relations, compliance, talent management, compensation, and benefits administration. Key responsibilities include: 

 

Employee Relations & Compliance 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Manage and update HR policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Partner with legal counsel, auditors, and benefits administrators to ensure compliance, including HR-specific audits and reporting requirements.
  • Manage HR-related registrations with government agencies and external entities.
  • Maintain HR SharePoint site to ensure up-to-date information and accessibility for employees.

 

Talent Management 

  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding, including job postings, screening, and interview coordination.
  • Ensure a smooth, positive onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Support organizational training, including mandatory annual trainings and other professional development initiatives.
  • Coordinate the annual performance review process, including timelines, goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement plans as needed.

 

Compensation, Benefits & HR Finance 

  • Manage compensation processes and practices in alignment with organizational policies.
  • Oversee employee benefits administration (health insurance, retirement, and other programs) and support the identification of fringe benefit rates in collaboration with Finance.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

 

Qualifications 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a human resources generalist role.
    • Experience with retirement plan administration and audits.
  • Skills:
  • Solid understanding of HR best practices and employment law.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, trust-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Open, positive, and collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
