Eurasia Foundation (EF) is accepting applications for an expert to design an original curriculum for an online course on how to utilize
 the media to raise awareness on issues of public interest and transparency. EF seeks individuals with expertise in designing and instructing a curriculum on Media and campaigning to empower civil society leaders as they seek to increase transparency and accountability in their communities through collaborative initiatives. The expert is responsible for identifying the key concepts of the courses and producing the course content in line with the objectives of program. Further information about content development will be discussed during the interview process.


  • Identify training objectives based on program needs
  • Design the curriculum and learning materials on media based on specifications provided by EF staff covering topics such as investigative journalism (fact checking, data collection for building evidence, risk management, etc.), media and social media communication, and strategic engagement with media. 
  • Determine weekly topics, subtopics and learning goals for each week’s lesson plan.
  • Provide content background and supplementary readings, forum questions, and weekly assignments.
  • Work with program staff to modify the content if necessary.
  • Provide clear assignments, learning expectations, and due dates.
  • Design pre- and post-course exams for evaluation purposes.


  • Master’s degree in journalism or a relevant field required. Experience may substitute for graduate degree.
  • Minimum five years of field experience in journalism, advocacy, policy reform, campaigning and/or grassroots organizing and movement building.
  • Training experience in media advocacy, media training, and community organizing required, curriculum development experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in Farsi/Dari is preferred.
