Job description

Eurasia Foundation (EF), a US-based international development organization promoting good governance and vibrant civil society, is looking for an experienced, highly motivated, detail-oriented, creative, and hands-on Digital Media Specialist to join an educational program at EF to empower women and educators. The ideal candidate can effectively collaborate with other team members to plan and implement strategic social media content and communications to increase the social media footprint of the program, enhance its reputation and public presence, engage key stakeholder groups, further develop the program’s brand and voice, and publicize its educational resources, courses, and campaigns. The Digital Media Specialist will develop and lead a robust social media content calendar and social media campaigns, alongside the Communications Specialist and Program Manager, to contribute to a comprehensive communications and content strategy.



  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive and cohesive cross-channel social media strategy based on the program’s goals and objectives to expand the program’s social media footprint, including strategies for recruiting new followers, fostering engagement and loyalty across all channels, and optimizing these efforts for each social media network.
  • Develop the program’s voice and brand and plan to utilize it appropriately across different social media channels.
  • Write, design, and produce creative content for the program’s social media presence across multiple social media channels – including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Telegram, and YouTube – to build audience engagement as well as leverage the platforms to drive qualified audience acquisition.
  • Work with a group of graphic designers and multimedia producers to lead the content development process to create printed and digital publicity and event materials to promote the program’s services.
  • Proactively identify timely ways to expand creative content offerings and improve brand awareness.
  • Develop and capture quantitative metrics and insights to showcase success and opportunities for growth via actionable insights. (e.g., engagement, views, online conversations, etc.)
  • Carefully listen to the audience and monitor and respond on social media channels as appropriate and share feedback to the team in a way that informs future communications.
  • Support junior team members in drafting and posting content.
  • Manage and maintain program’s website and social media channels.
  • Stay well informed about the latest trends in the social media space and discover and introduce new capabilities and trends to the program team.
  • Keep track of evolving issues concerning the program’s audience to be able to suggest stories and topics for the program’s social media to cover.
  • Review and approve all program’s media outreach.
  • Develop and maintain a media calendar that aligns with the program deadlines.



  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, social media or public relations.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing and managing social media across channels including: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Telegram, etc.
  • Expert-level knowledge and practice of organic social media and reporting.
  • Experience using social media management and analytical tools for listening, scheduling, engaging and reporting.
  • High comfort level with social media channels and their advertising platforms.
  • Data-driven and creative, with an analytic approach to understand the “why” behind results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, creatively and clearly with team members and program audience.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and ability to copywrite in a variety of personas and customize the program’s message by social media platform.
  • Results-driven, organized and self-motivated, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced and energetic environment with a diverse team.
  • Solution-oriented, natural problem solver that can multitask, meet deadlines and has a sharp attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of communications and marketing principles.
  • Current with the latest digital technologies and social media trends.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate, and supervise the work of others.
  • Experience with design and video editing/production software and tools preferred. Basic experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator is required.
  • Fluency in Farsi/Dari is required.
  • Availability to work at times of crises and rapid-response emergencies.
  • Experienced in launching digital campaigns and seeing the process through, from initial concepts to developing storylines and seeing the campaigns through to implementation.
