SUMMARY

Eurasia Foundation (EF) is accepting applications for an expert to develop and instruct an original curriculum for an online course on Community Engagement and Accountability. EF seeks individuals with experience and expertise in designing and instructing participatory public policy training courses for CSOs and NGOs in closed societies. Knowledge of advocacy and coalition-building is a plus. The expert will be responsible for identifying the key concepts of the course and designing and producing the content. This six-week course is to focus on transparency and access to information in local and international contexts and is intended to build an appreciation for openness and how it strengthens the credibility of an organization as well as improving its effectiveness.

DUTIES

• Review, analyze, and localize international best practices for civil society actors, in terms of benefits participatory public policy making
• Introduce participatory public policy as a tool to engage and influence the decision-making process of local councils with examples from local and international CSOs
• Identify feasible strategies to overcome challenges of participatory public policy making as a tool to engage local councils or municipalities in restrictive societies
• Determine weekly topics and subtopics and learning goals for each week in coordination with the program staff
• Design content and course structure with the aim of creating an engaging online learning environment for remote participants in coordination with program staff. Weekly content should include readings, forum discussion questions, and weekly assignments in line with course objectives with practical assignments that achieve the course’s desired learning outcomes by assisting participants build up their organizational capacity

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree or equivalent in education, social sciences, management, or a related area required
• Combination of education and years of experience is an acceptable substitute
• Strong demonstrated experience and background in professional trainings
• Experience with developing online learning pedagogy, particularly towards practical social learning, networking, and inclusivity
• Ideal candidates have relevant working experience in Persian/Dari-speaking countries
• Fluency in written and spoken Persian/Dari is a plus
