Human Resource Management Instructor for Online Social Entrepreneurship (OSE)

Summary

The Online Social Entrepreneurship program of the Eurasia Foundation seeks a Farsi-language instructor for the Human Resource Management online course. The instructor will be responsible for providing virtual training to a group of Iranian remote trainees. The course should be presented in a manner to facilitate the development of entrepreneurship and HR management skills among a cohort of Iranian social entrepreneurs.

The course is eight weeks long in duration and will cover basic topics in Human Resource Management.

By the end of the course students will be able to:
    - Prepare employment contracts and employment agreements ( for staff and volunteers)
    - Volunteer management
    - Job postings and develop questions for recruitment interview sessions
    - Evaluate performance and provide feedback
    - Understand HR policies and practices

EF seeks individuals with teaching expertise. Ideal candidates will have a background or experience in Iran, management, and online training. All applicants must be fluent in Farsi.

Location

Work can be performed remotely though telecommunication.

Duties

Course Instruction (approximately 15-20 hours per week)

  • Work with applicants in application forums and answer questions.
  • Review applications and help Course Administrator select the top 30 candidates.
  • Instruct distance learning students for 8 weeks.
  • Interact with students on a daily and weekly basis via chat sessions and e-mails.
  • Respond to student questions within a 24 hour period.
  • Answer forum questions pro-actively, helping students by providing advice and resources.
  • Review weekly homework, and provide comments and advice for revision.
  • Seed discussion questions in forums and upload additional materials and introduce links to resources related to students’ questions/issues and the course subject.

Student Monitoring & Evaluation (approximately 10 hours)

  • Monitor student involvement in forums and social learning exercises, maintaining an excel file of student progress, support received and remaining needs.
  • Evaluate reason for drop-outs.
  • Evaluate the pre and post course exams in order to ascertain the knowledge gained of each student.
  • Provide a final evaluation report of student final projects, knowledge gained, course progression, overall engagement and forum participation and determine pass/fail status of each student.

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant field, including management, business, education or area studies.

Experience

  • Strong demonstrated experience and background in management.
  • Successful applicants should show expert knowledge of human resource management.
  • Demonstrated interest in social entrepreneurship and development.
  • Work or study experience in Iran.
  • Experience of online teaching is a plus.

Additional Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent computer proficiency and ability to work with e-learning software, including Moodle.
  • Creative teaching and educational techniques and problem solving.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to details, and commitment to teaching.
  • Strong evaluative and analytic skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Farsi required.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English a plus.
  • Ability to type in Farsi.
