Combating Gender-Based Violence

Since the onset of stay-home orders in both the US and Russia, emergency responders have recorded spikes in calls reporting domestic violence. EF and its partners are addressing the gendered impacts of COVID-19 by gathering firsthand accounts of at-risk women’s needs and experiences, and designing digital training and networking interventions to unite survivors, strengthen support systems, and bring attention to this growing global problem. Programs attend to the unique risks faced by different demographics of women, based upon factors such as age, sexuality, race, or socio-economic status, and offer tailored solutions to meet the needs of diverse populations in the age of COVID-19.
