Dr. Valentin Zelenyuk was the first Ukrainian with a western Ph.D. to return to Ukraine as a full-time professor. He has been a professor at the Kyiv School of Economics since 2002 where he teaches econometrics with a focus on productivity analysis.
In 1995 Eurasia Foundation launched a multilateral donor initiative to modernize economics education and research in Ukraine – the Economics Education Research Consortium, which today has grown into the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE). Outside of academia, Dr. Zelenyuk serves as the CEO of Advisors, L.L.C., a Ukrainian consulting firm. Previously, he served as the chief economist and chief strategist at Millennium Capital, one of Ukraine’s largest investment banks and is currently working for the Central Bank of Luxembourg on the theory and application of productivity analysis.
Professor Zelenyuk received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Oregon State University and his B.S. from Donetsk State University of Economics and Trade. He was an Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellow, and has twice been honored with the Swedish Government Professorship Award.
