Kuwait Critical Thinking Project (n-mu)

2015 - present

In 2015, EF  launched the Kuwait Critical Thinking Project (n-mu), in collaboration with its Kuwait-based partner, en.v. n-mu means “I grow” in Arabic and aims to promote active citizenship among Kuwaiti youth. n-mu builds the training and facilitation capacity of local trainers through an innovative curriculum developed by EF on citizenship skills, critical thinking, advocacy and media literacy. EF’s training approach is based on critical reflection, dialogue, and action, and is delivered using experiential and inquiry-based learning techniques. EF guides local trainers as they train on the topics above and mentor youth ages 18-25 to design and implement small-scale initiatives responding to issues identified in their local communities. To bring attention to their projects, youth will utilize social media and other innovative approaches to raise awareness and work towards achieving positive change in themselves and their communities.

The project is funded by IREX through its Regional Assistance Program and the U.S. Department of State.
