During her recent visit to Moscow, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met with Russian civil society leaders to get their perspective on current developments in Russia.
New Eurasia Foundation President Andrei Kortunov was one of five participants selected to attend the meeting, which was held at the American ambassador’s residence. During the meeting, Kortunov discussed the New Eurasia Foundation’s education program and its impact on the development of Russia’s higher education system. Optimistic about the future of US-Russian relations, Kortunov pointed out the success of educational exchange programs.
Launched in 2005, New Eurasia Foundation’s education program focuses on modernizing Russia’s education system and is currently working with 20 universities to develop democratic university governance systems, introduce credit-based curricula, and integrate universities into local communities.
