Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF) continues the work of Eurasia Foundation in Azerbaijan, where it began awarding grants in 1994 and opened an office in Baku in 1998. Throughout the country, the Foundation supports diverse development programs.
Grantees have ranged from business associations pursuing legislative reform to consumer advocacy groups protecting citizens’ rights. EPF’s programs in Azerbaijan currently focus on promoting corporate social responsibility, increasing transparency in education budgets, improving the quality of media and improving municipal management.
One of the country’s most active and successful programs is the Azerbaijan Youth Fund—a unique initiative that places real-life opportunities for decision-making and resource allocation into the hands of young people throughout the country.
Eurasia Foundation has been recognized for its work in Azerbaijan. In 2001, the Bilik Society—an Azerbaijani NGO based in Baku—presented the foundation with its prestigious Yusuf Mammedaliyev Award for its contribution to the development of education and culture in Azerbaijan.
