Program Summary

The objective of the program at the Eurasia Foundation is to facilitate virtual learning and networking among social activists in a variety of fields.

Position Summary

The Course Administrator monitors student engagement and networking to identify opportunities for further collaboration, learning and activity. S/he identifies when key connections and learning occur in courses. S/he ensures that courses take place smoothly and efficiently, that all course deadlines are met and all course communications are effective and timely to help students meet the requirements of the courses. The Course Administrator manages enrollment of the students in each course, ensures weekly updates, communication with the instructors, and conducts other tasks as necessary.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors, identifies and reports on learning, networking, and other progress towards the outcomes of the program in the chat sessions, forums, and interactions of the course.
  • Oversees the performance of course interns
  • Liaises with the instructors of the courses to ensure clear communication to students
  • Ensures clear and on-time implementation of the courses, meeting deadlines and communicating with students
  • Implements course policies
  • Keeping regular contact with cohorts ensuring that they are achieving their projects’ goals via Skype, phone calls and emails
  • Updating Cohort Progress Reports
  • Maintaining strong relationship with Alumni while monitoring their projects’ progress

Course Applicants Recruiting

  • Works with website editor to market courses.
  • Monitors rate and number of application acquisition during outreach campaigns.
  • Conducts outreach campaigns using google adwords, social networking and recommends other methods as needed for applications.

Course Organization

Oversees interns to:

  • Administers new applications
  • Compiles applicant lists with demographic data
  • Coordinates student selection meetings with program officers and course instructors
  • Sends class rosters to instructors
  • Enrolls students and manages wait-listed students
  • Creates, and Organizes enrolment folders for each new cohort
  • Develops roster lists with summary on students’ interests and backgrounds in each course
  • Compiles and documents pre- and post-test scores
  • Sends admission, rejection, and chat scheduling emails
  • Assists instructor in chat sessions
  • Reviews course evaluations written by the instructors and ensures quality information
  • Records outcomes from the course activities for the project evaluation to report to the program officers

Course Content

  • Works with instructors to develop pre/post tests for the courses
  • Uploads and organizes the course material on weekly basis
  • Writes new course content based on the direction provided by the Senior Program Officer and Program Officer.

Communications

  • Monitors course interns’ communications with students
  • Drafts mass email communications with the students (i.e. acceptance/rejection emails, alerts, etc.)
  • Liaises with guest teachers and speakers to coordinate live chats with students
  • Initiates new channels to engage alumni members in the new courses
  • Drafts donor reports on courses, interactions in courses, learning achievements, partnerships and other noteworthy progress.

Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications

Education: A college degree, preferably in a relevant field such as development, journalism, sociology, political science, economics, social work, international affairs, or area studies.

Experience: Work experience in community based organizations in Iran. Experience working on the web, including website editing, journalism, women’s entrepreneurship or social entrepreneurship.

Other: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks are required. Computer skills, including word processing, databases, Internet, and spreadsheets, are required. Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of Persian is required.

The course participants are aspiring women entrepreneurs in Iran. The objective of the course is to teach and improve the soft skills and competencies that the participants need for excelling as owners, leaders and managers of enterprises and organizations. The course curriculum should use innovative training techniques and provide lesson plans including weekly readings, prompts for forum discussions, assignments, final project, and an instrument to assess knowledge gained (pre- and post-test).
“Partner Relations and Contract Negotiation” Course Expert for Online Women’s Entrepreneurship Program The Online Women Entrepreneurship program of the Eurasia Foundation seeks an expert for the six week long “Partner Relations and Contract Negotiation” course. The expert will be responsible for developing the course curriculum in a manner that is practical, relevant, engaging and participatory. The course participants are aspiring women entrepreneurs in Iran.
